We are pleased to inform that Centre for Advanced Materials Research (CAMAR), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) are organizing a Workshop on Sample Preparation Method & Microscopic Examination 2008 (SAMPLE PREP ’08). The particulars of the workshop are as follows:

This two-day workshop is constructed to address all aspects of sample preparation for metallographic examination. The idea is to develop a technical understanding of what happens when sample is mounted, ground, polished and then observed optically. Besides that, participants also will be exposed on other metallurgical analysis such as hardness testing and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. In order to satisfy the elements of the competence tasks, the participants will prepare their own specific materials. Participants will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the equipment for samples preparation, microscopy and photomicrography.
